Your
parish
The Angelus Film Festival will run throughout October 2025. Parish venues can also run the event in another calendar month, from July 2025.
If your parish venue wishes to participate in the festival it could screen one film a week for four weeks. Alternatively, there is flexibility with how parishes wish to run the event.
Parish venues can charge ticket sales, sell merchandise and raise money. The Angelus Film Festival will charge a screening fee (per film) and an administration fee (see FAQ for more details). Your parish may choose to host an event, utilise a theatre venue at a university, school, partner with a group of neighbouring parishes / schools, to share the best venue in the area and the costs etc. Alternatively your parish venue might be a function room in the outback with seating for 20 people, no parish venue is too small to register. The estimated screening fees per film will range from $80 (small venue) to $500 (large venue) – see FAQ section for more details. For a small venue to host the event and feature 4 films it would cost about $470.
Please register your interest to host The Angelus Film Festival here. There is no fee to register.
What your venue will need to host
Your venue will need a projector, laptop and strong internet connection (download speed at least 20Mbps) to screen a movie as no DVD options will be available. We recommend connecting the laptop to an ethernet cable as wireless connectivity is not reliable enough when streaming films and may cause the transmission to freeze and drop out. Your venue will also need a big screen and appropriate seating. Please consider that an elevated screen will make it easier for the audience to see the screen and read subtitles, especially if foreign language films are selected.
Moving
forward
We are in contact with film distributors from around the world to make a selection of award winning and acclaimed movies including Christian film festivals (e.g. International Vatican Film Festival/Mirabile Dictu).
Films to feature at the event, will be announced to registered parishes, parish venues can decide if they wish to participate, select the films they wish to screen or revoke their registration.
